We have a few new members as of today, and although the community hasnt been active as of late, I want to try to change that.

I think its important for parents to have a supportive, non-judgmental circle of friends, as most of us have probably experienced the snarking and flaming that exists on most LJ parenting communities.

I'm going to try to promote it more, see what happens.

My husband and I have been discussing the whole breastfeeding issue with our second child, and the more I think about it, the more I really dont want to do it. I've even tried to make a pro and con list, but it just looks like I'll be formula feeding again. I mean, I know I probably shouldnt feel this way, but its not something i can really ignore, the thought alone of breastfeeding makes me feel nauseous and gives me high anxiety.

Has anyone else here dealt with this? Or felt really uncomfortable about the thought of breastfeeding?

For those of you who already have children;

How long did your baby wear newborn size diapers??

I want to start stocking up on them but Im not sure if I should get newborns or size 1's?

What diaper rash creams or remedies worked the best for you???

My husband and I were talking the other day about how much it costs to have a baby in other countries, as in doctors visits, hospital stay, etc.. In Ontario, Canada we only pay for doctors notes and such, I think its something like $5 or $10 a note, I'm not sure....either way, I feel very fortunate. Also, after my son was born, we paid to have him circumsized, which I believe was $160.

anyway, how much do OB/GYN visits cost? ultrasounds? a c section as opposed to natural birth? etc. I'm really curious.

I thought I would post some kind of introduction of myself too. :)

I'm 23, a last-year medical student and living in Finland. Married to a wonderful man and we have our first baby on the way. He's due date is on September 22nd but I have a feeling he's coming around sooner than that.

So, no real parenting experience yet but I'm sure there's plenty to come.
